Spotify Issues and Fix

Some listeners are reporting issues with the Spotify app crashing when trying to access Dark Poutine or other Corus shows. We are working behind the scenes with CuriousCast and Spotify to determine whether there is a bug between our network and our software. 

In the meantime, Corus has reached out to Spotify and they have some steps for users to take to repair the issue. The instructions are below

Could you try turning your device off and on again? If that doesn’t do the trick, let’s try the reinstallation steps below, they should get you back up and running.

Just a heads up, if you have music downloaded for offline listening, you need to download it again after reinstalling. 

First, make sure you have a sufficient internet connection. We recommend at least a 3G connection, but preferably WiFi.

Here’s how to Reinstall Spotify on the iPhone/iPad:

1. On the home screen, tap and hold the Spotify icon until it shakes.
2. Tap the X symbol on the icon.
3. Open the App Store then search for and install the Spotify Music app.

Reinstall on an Android (6.0+):

1. Go to your phone’s Settings.
2. Select Apps.
3. Find Spotify in your list of apps, tap it.
4. For a clean reinstall, tap Storage > Clear Data.
5. Tap Uninstall.
6. Open Google Play and install the Spotify Music app.

Older Android devices

1. Go to your phone’s Settings.
2. Select Applications, then Manage applications.
3. Find Spotify in your list of apps, tap it.
4. Tap Clear Data.
5. For a clean reinstall, go to Storage > Android > Data and delete a folder called com.spotify.music.
6. Open Google Play and install the Spotify Music app.

Additionally, if your device has less than 1 GB of available memory, performance of Spotify could possibly be affected. You may want to delete some unnecessary files and apps:

· For iPhone/iPad, go to Settings > General > iPhone/iPad Storage and see the Available space.
· For Android, open the Applications tab and tap Settings. Tap SD card & phone storage.
